چکیده

An absolute hydrophone calibration technique using ultrasonic far-field with optical interferometry was extended to 40MHz to evaluate the sound pressure amplitude generated by medical ultrasound equipment. A 1-mm nominal radius plane transducer was the calibration sound source for an ultrasonic far-field at 50mm propagation distance at 40MHz. The transducer’s effective radius was 0.88mm at 40MHz, with a range of 1040MHz. A coplanar membrane hydrophone with a 0.2mm radius active element was calibrated using the technique at frequencies of 1040MHz with a 1MHz frequency interval. Calibration results obtained using the developed system were compared with those obtained using our current calibration system. The discrepancy between those results was within the uncertainty of our current calibration system for frequencies of 1020MHz. [doi:10.2320/matertrans.I-M2014814]

A multiple-frequency hydrophone calibration technique.

A method is described for comparing the sensitivity of two hydrophones over the frequency range 1-15 MHz. This technique forms the basis for the dissemination of national ultrasonic standards in the U.K. over this frequency range. A reference hydrophone is placed in an ultrasonic field and then the device being calibrated is substituted and the two output voltages are compared. This substitutio...

A New Method of Ultrasonic Hydrophone Calibration using Wave Propagation Modeling

A new method is presented for hydrophone calibration using the Khokhlov Zabolotskaya Kuznetsov (KZK) equation. Simulated and experimental on-axis finite amplitude distortion time waveforms and frequency spectra are compared. The hydrophone calibration up to 100 MHz is estimated for two different hydrophones.

Phase calibration of hydrophones: heterodyne time-delay spectrometry and broadband pulse technique using an optical reference hydrophone

Two hydrophone calibration techniques are presented which provide amplitude and phase of hydrophone sensitivity. Heterodyne time-delay spectrometry can be applied in the frequency range from 0.5 to 50 MHz to all common hydrophones but needs a standard to obtain absolute values. A pulse technique between 1 and 70 MHz allows exploiting of an optical multilayer hydrophone as a phase standard. In c...

Heterodyne and Time-gated Time-delay Spectrometry for Amplitude and Phase Calibration of Hydrophones

The determination of amplitude and phase of the hydrophone sensitivity using two techniques based on time-delay spectrometry is presented. The frequency range in which the technique can be applied is from 1 MHz to 50 MHz. The agreement with the results obtained by alternative calibration techniques is excellent, which emphasises the correct working of this coherent technique. Introduction Calib...

The Calibration of Hydrophones by a Novel Optical Technique in the Frequency Range 10 Khz to 600 Khz

This paper presents a technique for the absolute calibration of hydrophones using a novel optical method. The method uses a thin, optically reflecting membrane suspended in the acoustic field to allow optical measurement of the acoustic particle velocity using a Doppler interferometer. The hydrophone under test is then substituted for the pellicle, and the hydrophone response to the known acous...
